Saturday June 4th at 8:00 pm, the principal clarinetist of the Metropolitan Orchestra of Montréal, Simon Aldrich, will join the magnificent pianist, Janelle Fung for the grand opening of the festival. This « spectacular player » (Los Angeles Times) will take everyone on a « Musical Voyage » with works by Bartok, Glick, Mahler, Cahuzac, Vaughn Williams, Guastavino and Brahms. Saturday June 11th at 8:00 pm, it is the virtuosity and brilliance of the Ensemble Caprice that will be on offer. Under the direction of Matthias Maute (orchestra and choir conductor, virtuoso of the recorder and flute, and composer), this JUNO award winning ensemble will present the program : Vivaldi, Bach et cie, iLove baroque. Saturday June 18th at 8:00 pm, two extremely talented Eastern Townships musicians : cellist Erich Kory from Ayer’s Cliff; and pianist Tristan Longval-Gagné from Sherbrooke, will unveil « The Timeless Cello », a chronological tour of musical masterpieces. On the evening’s program, works by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Rachmaninoff and Webern. And to conclude the festival with a bang, on Saturday June 25th at 8:00 pm, the concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Jonathan Crow, and the concertmaster of the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, Andrew Wan, will join the superb pianist Philip Chiu for an amazing program entitled « Moz-Art », with works by Leclair, Prokofiev, Schnittke, Chopin, McKinley and Moskowski.
